Proudest Mommy Moments: Rumour Is Here!

It’s the last day of my proudest Mommy Moments posts.
I’ve loved this so much that I’ve decided to make it a Weekly Feature.
Thursdays will be the day that you can come by and meet a Mommy and read all about her Proud Moments.  (if you are interested in sending me a post for these don’t hesitate, just email me!)

My last guest this is one of my first friends in blogland.
We found each other in the trenches of infertility and I have since watched her get pregnant with and raise 3 Beautiful Divas.

I love Rumour.
She is a wonderful mom, a loving wife and a lawyer (my infatution with these women is not creepy)
Plus her writing is so real and honest, my favorites have to be the:
Monthly Letters to Sends to Each Diva.
I mean you don’t get a better Mama than that.

Plus she is a great confidant and friend to me. I feel like we’ve been friends for years, because, well, we have been. That’s what so amazing about blogland , it brings you gifts you never expected.

I was so thrilled when she agreed to be here and share her moment with you…
So here she is: My friend Rumour:

When I received Kir’s email asking me if I would participate in her week long guest posting about our proudest mommy moment, I was instantly in love with the idea. Then many moments in my life as a Mama came flooding to my mind. Times when I was proud of my Divas or even myself. I was having a hard time coming up with just one moment that I would define as my proudest.

I was a very proud pregnant lady and I wore my pregnant bellies loud and proud… but that wasn’t my proudest mommy moment. Each time I brought a beautiful baby girl home from the hospital… but that wasn’t it. What about when they found their toes, learned to walk and started to talk. All wonderful moments but not the proud moment that I was looking for. What about the times when I ventured out, all by myself, with 3 Divas in tow. When I made a five hour drive all by myself with the 3 Divas. Sure, I was proud but these moments were not what I view as my Proudest Mommy Moments.

Then I started to think, “When do I smile the biggest. When does my heart swell with emotion and pride.” “What do I want my girls to really learn in life?” I thought of those times and decided that I cannot reduce my Proudest Mommy Moment to just one. Not with three Divas in the house. Nope, because the moments that make me the proudest involve two or more of my girls at any given time. These are moments that, I hope, happen much more often.

So my Proudest Mommy Moment happens when my children show love and affection towards one another. When they show empathy, caring and understanding. I actually look forward to the day that they “team up” against us towards a mutual goal. I know. Crazy. It’s true.

I will never forget the time when Piper and Davilyn were sitting together on the couch, in silence. Watching a cartoon. When, out of no where, Davilyn said,
“Pipi?”

Piper said, “What?”

And then Davilyn said,
“I love you.”

My heart melted all over the floor.

The most recent displays of affection that have me giddy with Mama Pride are when I watch Quinn give Piper and Davilyn big, slobbery, toddler kisses. My hope is that they grow up to be the best of friends. That they are always there for one another… and this my friends is what makes me a Proud Mama.
