Proud Mommy Moment: Leighann of Multitasking Mumma is Rockin the Corner

Hey! It’s Thursday again!
Thanks for coming over to the Corner.
Come in, Come in…..get settled.
I have an awesome visitor today

She Rocks
and Rolls
She’s sooo funny ,
no I mean Seriously Funny People
oh please , go ahead, I’ll wait.
Are you back?
Oh good, well she is also a great writer.
 I witness  it every day,
touched me me so much.
She knows how to move me with her pictures
She just inspires me.
So when she talks about her her battle with PPD
and how she kicked it’s ass, I cheer for her.
She is also a pretty amazing mommy
and so I’m so glad to welcome her (and her mushroom cut perm)
to the corner today!!
I know that when you read this story of how her little girl
changed her world you’ll tear up like I did,
 grabthe Kleenex
& read this really lovely post from Leighann:
*************************************************************
Glancing back in my review mirror I picture the empty back seat filled with a giggling baby.

Her full cheeks looking back at me, grasping up at hanging toys and plush blankets, her gummy smile filling the car with warmth and new life.

My hand instinctively wraps around my round belly.

Soon.

—————–

Her screams fill the car as I rush to find a place to pull over, my heart racing and anxiety rising; I’m sure I’ve pinched her skin in the harness, forgotten to feed her, or wrapped her too tightly.

My feet find the break and jam the car into park as I fumble with the seat belt; her shrieks becoming louder, more demanding.

I break her free of her car seat prison and hold her close, hum to her, tell her she’s okay and feel her tiny body sink into my chest as we rock in the back seat.

Silence.

—————–

She sings loudly as we drive home from daycare.

Bah bah black sheeee

ABC LMN Sing with meeee

Hands high above her head swaying back and forth to the sound of her own voice.

I glance back in my review mirror and see a full back seat filled with a beautiful, laughing toddler.

A picture I longed to see.

Her full cheeks look back at me as she reaches up to the sky, her tiny voice filling the car with warmth and life.

My heart fills with love.

Filled with pride.

Perfect & Proud right?

Beautiful.  When we went thro infertility treatments I was so convinced I was going to have a litter we were doing so many drugs and retrievals – I bought a mini van.  Every day I drove that thing looking at an empty back seats … but imagining it filled with smiling faces! Then we adopted The Princess, and Wiki and her sat side by side in those captains seats and I thought my heart would burst!

My good friend Leighann always captures these moments perfectly. I almost feel like I'm in the car with her, but then I'm glad I'm not, because she's in Canada, and it's cold there.Love you sister wife!

So sweet. I need to take time to appreciate those happy car seat moments better. (It probably won't surprise you to know that when I pulled over and tried to calm him after a car seat fit, it never worked. I just had to drive home with a screaming baby…)

Oooh, I love this. Mine are mostly happy and relaxed and sitting still (the best part) in the car which makes me wish I could turn around and watch them for a bit.
