Welcome to Proud Mommy Moments at The Kir Corner!
I have such a SWEET Mommy to share with you today!
All week I’ve been excited to welcome her and when I think of her my cheeks ache from smiling.
Please say HI, to Bruna of Bees with Honey.
If you don’t know her, well today is your lucky day because I can tell you once you visit her amazing blog you’ll be thanking me for the introduction and wondering how you ever missed such a sun-shiny place in the blogosphere.
There are so many things I adore about Bruna. First she is so honest, she wears her heart on her sleeve and she knows exactly how to bring bloggers together and allow us ways to celebrate ourselves. She has a gift for finding the perfect way to introduce us to each other (Let’s BEE Friends) and how to celebrate the beauty inside each one of us (Bee Beautiful You).
She is also an amazing teacher, (she does it say it’s her “Calling”) and if you read her you know it’s true. She is so good at instructing and offering beauty tips or arts and crafts but she does it in a way that is so subtle that you come away learning things in a happy relaxed atmosphere. She shares those things with us in her feature called Mama Teach Us and it’s wonderful.
Yet, besides being an amazing friend, blogger, social media diva and teacher is her role as a wife and mom.
Her love for her family is evident in each smile, each word she uses to describe her beautiful daughters and husband. (Honestly, her photos make me catch my breath every time I visit. )
Bruna, I feel so lucky to have you as a friend. I truly smile whenever I visit you or see you name in my inbox because you are amazing inside and out, a bright beautiful light in the world.
Here is Bruna with her Proud Mommy Moment:

Being a Mom and a teacher definitely has its perks. Those of you who know me know that I bring a lot of my classroom home to my kids. Besides setting up their toy room to look like a mini classroom, I regularly bring home new books for them to read and new craft/art ideas for them to try … hence the Mama Teach Us theme on my blog.
Now if someone were to ask me which job is more challenging, Motherhood or teaching, my answer would be motherhood hands down! You can give me a group of 30 students and I will have them independent and in a routine within no time. They will listen to me, laugh at my jokes and enjoy learning in a safe and fun environment. Motherhood, however, is a whole other ball park. Give me 3 beautiful daughters and there are days when I go to bed exhausted from taking care of them. We have our good days and then we have days when they’re off the wall, totally whiny and unbearable and all I want to do is chuck them out the window, not literally but imaginably <— my new, made-up word! (Or is it a real word?)
Motherhood is a profession like no other.
Twenty-four hours around the clock, seven days a week, 12 months a year, for years and years thereafter. No breaks, no vacations, no time outs.
The profession is life-long. The side effects are endless.
On even the toughest of days though, it’s those little moments our kids share with us that make us stop, think and feel thankful for them. These moments make us feel proud to be their mothers and blessed to have children in our life.
I’m especially proud to be a Mother to my three daughters when …
Little B writes me love notes on her Etch-a-Sketch. “I luv u mom” and “You are the best Mom in the wole world” are her favourites.
Little H tells me she missed me while I was at work, out grocery shopping or in the bathroom.
Teen B cleans her room without me asking.
Little B worries about her baby sis.
Little H always wants to hug her sister Little B.
Teen B holds my hand when we’re out in public.
I find Little B reading books to Little H.
Little H sings along to songs while playing on the computer.
Teen B randomly volunteers hugs and kisses to me.
I watch Teen B perform in her dance competitions.
I see all of them playing together, having fun and loving on each other.
It’s hard work being a Mom …
but my reward is pride and unconditional love.
No other profession or career compares.

Thank you so much Kirsten for inviting me to share my proud mommy moments on your blog. I was truly honoured when you asked me. It has been wonderful spending time in your corner.

OH Bruna, it was my pleasure to have YOU here today, thank you so much for being part of this series.
You are one amazing MOMMY! xo
I encourage you to learn all about Bruna by

or follow her awesomeness on Twitter: @beeswithhoney

I agree with you completely. I pride myself on having a lot of patience and I can have a class full of 22 kids going full steam ahead and even when they call my name a million times, I generally take it in stride. But sometimes at home, when my daughter is pushing my buttons, I feel like I have no patience at all.
Isn’t it funny how different we are in the two environments? Kids are the same. So many parents are surprised when I tell them they’re kids are extremely well-behaved in class. It always makes me laugh to see her their facial reactions. Some kids are just off the wall at home but not the same at school.
they’re = their typo!
HI YOU
Bruna is truly one of the sweetest people I’ve met through blogging. And Bruna, motherhood is as you describe it – it’s a lifelong commitment with rewards that are immeasurable.
Your girls will continue to make you proud!
Thanks Alison. I can’t imagine ever not being proud of my girls. It just comes with the job
I have loved reading Brunas blog for quite a while now and am glad to be back online so I can keep up to date with her and her wonderful family. She is extremely creative and has taught me alot about parenting over the months.
I am pleased to have found Kirs Corner and will be following from now on as it is also a great blog. Nice to meet you Kirsten and friends. Take care, Kate xx
I never thought I could teach anyone anything about parenting but it’s nice to hear
Yay! I read Mom blogs so I can learn from everyone else.
It is no wonder her girls are wonderful! They have Bruna as a mom.
Aw, thanks Deirdre. You’re sweet. My girls are great but they’re not wonderful ALL the time. They have their moments. Don’t be fooled by their cute little faces
I have to agree with the comments above… Bruna is a super sweet person. One of those people I would normally hate, because of her awesome mom / Martha Stewart-ness.
Kidding of course.
Sort of.
Also?
Her kids are obviously geniuses… I can’t write squat on my son’s Etch-a-Sketch.
Hey Lindsay,
I’m not Martha Stewart! Seriously, I wish I were more like her with my home and cooking. As for crafts, I bring home stuff from work. I call it it cheating, kinda.
Thanks for coming to Kir’s and staying long enough to read me.
Bruna, I couldn’t agree with you more. I worked so hard for so long with my career and I never felt the satisfaction at the end of the work day like I do when I end my day looking at my girls dreaming peacefully in their beds. It was nice to meet you!
Hi Kir, You have the most awesome friends!!!
Teaching and Mothering are both great careers but being a Mom is, hands down, way more tiring and draining than any other job. Good thing it has many rewards
There really is nothing better than to be a mom.
Definitely.
It’s very hard work, but yes, it’s nice to see the rewards from all our work. You’re raising some very sweet little girls.
Thanks Rach! You’re do an awesome job with little Donut yourself
She’s one lucky little girl.
Oh I love Bruna. You’re so right the rewards are worth it. Motherhood is hard but so worth it.
Oh, I love Kimberly
Motherhood rocks!
Bruna has be one of my faves since I started blogging. Love her and I love this post. So many wonderful things to be proud of! I think I’m going to try to pay attention and remember more when my kids make me proud. I tend to gloss over those moments and move us on…to whatever thing we’re late for, since we’re always late for something!
I love both of you and your blogs. (-;
Bruna I’ve never been a teacher and I have always, always stood back in awe at every classroom I’ve observed and wondered how the heck teachers do it. I can mother – but I really don’t know if I could handle a room full of 30! It is a real gift, and the world needs more teachers like you – whose calling it is.
So nice to read more about you in today’s post.
Motherhood is definitely the harder job. So pat yourself on the back my friend
I LOVE it when my favorite girls come together!
Bruna, if you’re anything at home, like you are online, you have the luckiest kids ever!
I’m a little grumpier at home. My on-line friends aren’t messy and clean-up after themselves! LOL
Bruna, you’re a wonderful teacher and mother. And those are proud mommy moments indeed. Your girls are truly blessed to have you!
Thanks Germaine. I feel truly blessed to have 3 girls.
Such a fan of Bruna!!
i sooo want to see pics of that little classroom in your house!
I may have to take some pics of the classroom in my home and share them in a post JUST for you!
Having three daughters… that used to be my dream wish! You’re so blessed (although I’m quite aware of the so-called ‘side-effects’ hahaha), Bruna. I only have one child… a daughter, and even with just one there were times when she’s more than a handful! lol
Isn’t it the sweetest when our children say they miss and love us out of the blue? My daughter also dances, and I know that watching her perform has always been some of my proudest mommy moments
Kirsten, I know of Bruna, albeit for a very short time only thus far. But yes, she is one of the sweetest bloggers I’ve ‘met’ and I’m so glad you featured her here!
Sweaty,
Thank you for your kind and sweet words. I have shed many tears watching my dancer perform. I feel so proud when I see her dance. She’s very good at it.
