Let’s see what Charlotte of Gathering Buttercups is up to….
Charlotte played with the stick in her martini, the olive long gone, and kept her eyes on the door willing Luke to materialize.
Instead a boy shuffled over and leaned into her, looking up she was greeted with a smile and a mop of dark silky hair.
“Hey” his mouth said.
Charlotte smirked, “hey yourself.”
“Can I buy you a drink?”
She took in his faded jeans and backwards baseball cap, “What are you 12? “
“25.” the smiling mouth said.
“That’ll be a scandal for sure” she said as she drained her glass.
“Maybe that’s just what you need.”

Trifecta this week: Scandal

My kind of story! VERY intriguing.
Hi Gina,
first I love the name of your blog..it’s genius!
and thanks for stopping over…glad you enjoyed this.
It sounds like there is trouble brewing.
or just another “buttercup to gather”
it sounds like you liked it, I hope you did.
This one was cool!
One should always eat the olive before they devour the cherry? I think I read that in the bible or something.
oh that’s a great way to put it (dirty, but I like it!!!) thanks for coming over, it’s so nice to see you here.
It’s always a pleasure =]
that is the best comment and compliment…THANK YOU my new friend.
Hello! Love a good scandal…and love what you’ve done with a simple 100 words

HI you!!! I am so glad you like it, it’s been fun to write. ooooh the scandal is good fun!
I think Charlotte likes trouble.
well, I think she might..or she needs a harmless kind now after her horrific marriage. I think she needs to do things she’d never do now.
thanks for reading it!!!
Hello! Scandal indeed…I forget, is it Charlotte who is married or Kate?
Either way…Jennifer said it “Charlotte likes trouble”
Charlotte is “Gathering her buttercups” my friend. She is the one that left her horrific marriage, I loved this piece myself. For purely personal reasons.
bow chicka wow wow…I can think of a time or two when I had that “scandal” of a trophy too. He was 19 and I was 30. A man in uniform at that.
Oh how I love that you liked this and enjoyed the “scandal”. You go girl, you are a girl after my own heart.:)
xo

oooh nicely done!! I am SO with her on the staring at the door willing someone to materialize. Been there. Was there last week when I was back in my hometown, willing “Alan” to show up when I was out. #sigh
I love “oh THAT’LL be a scandal”
You’re so good, Kir!!
hi you!!! so glad to see you here. I’ve been reading/following your Liam story too and I LOVE IT!
I don’t think I’m good at all, but I am glad you are here to read, it makes my heart happy
Wait, how did I miss this?
You linked up for this week, Of LIllie and Remains but this is frim the wek’s before, the Ben harper song, That’s how I missed it..
Ok, logistics done, loved it. It shows Charlotte’s longing kind of like Violet’s dad. Those feelings mean something even if they’re visceral.
I like it when you;re bad, K.
