Trifecta:Gathering Buttercups:Confession

Sweet Kate,

I wanted to say those words to you 15 years ago,not now when they make everything so fucking complicated. But I’m glad I did, because I do and I always have.

Lance.

For this week’s challenge, you have to write a letter of apology in exactly 33 words. Addresses, salutations, closings, etc. (should you wish to include them) do not count in the 33 words.

Such a confession could bring about so many other apologies. Loved this one.

    • Lance has a lot to apologize for, it won’t be easy, but we’ll see how it goes.

thank you for coming over to read, that means a lot to me.

You said so much without ever saying ‘those words’. And they always say: better late than never!

With 33 words, you painted a movie scene for me and maybe a snippet of my real life too. I loved it.

    • oh thank you so much for this comment, it meant a lot to me. I think we’ve all wished that old ex/love/friend would just say the words we think about them saying..don’t we?

I know I’m very likely getting ahead of myself, but a guy who would say that to a married woman, even if it’s true? Not entirely to be trusted…

Sorry Lance, since he’s your namesake and all… ;)

    • you know I don’t trust him either…but for right now Kate really isn’t thinking with her head (LOL), I think it might get a little crazier before it gets better. ;)

  6. I liked how this was an apology without using the actual words “I’m sorry”. Well done.

Please. Do you EVER get an apology with an “I’m sorry” in it? And I don’t mean an “I’m sorry but ….” :)

      • not often..which is why I didn’t use it… ;) Plus with this story, Lance has things to be sorry about he just doesn’t know how to say it. :)

thanks for coming by to read. So nice to have you here.

    • HI there..and thank you for coming over, for reading it and for commenting. I am loving the people I’m meeting through Trifecta. It’s always interesting when people say I’m sorry without saying it, isn’t it??? Let’s see if he really is.

Great job saying so much without ever saying those things!

    • I like this comment, because it helps me know what works and what doesn’t with the way he said it. Lance has things to be sorry about, I just don’t know if he knows how to say them. :)

  8. Seriously, I this makes lit Lance more complex and a bit nefarious. He’s definitely my evil alter ago.

I like how this story is going.

  9. Powerful. Nicely done.

  10. Nice addition to your ongoing storyline!

Sometimes, the apology that feels too late is the one that comes at just the right time, too.

    • I think so too, sometimes it’s just the mere promise of a apology that makes it all worth it. thanks for coming over to read, I always love when YOU come by!

“I’m glad I did, because I do and I always have.” Intriguing and charming!

    • why thank you so much! I loved your post for this prompt, so it’s a thrill for me to have you come over and leave a comment. Glad you liked it.
