Trifecta: My Heart Can’t Tell You No

A few hours after this implied kiss” a note was left on a pillow…Want more Gathering Buttercups? You can read it here

Lance,

Sorry I had to slip out, but I’ll be back…In your arms I’m more than a wife and mother, with you I’m a woman again.

My heart can’t tell you no,

Katie

This weekend’s Trifextra is the first of its kind.  This weekend we only need 32 words from you, because we’re giving you the 33rd.

Your challenge is to write anything you want, in whichever form you please, so long as your response is exactly 33 words and includes the word “mother.”

Wow, what strength and vulnerability in katie. I hope lit Lance gets the message.

    • Katie is Conflicted..in the best possible ways it seems. It makes for some very nice drama, but I want her heart to be happy.
thanks for coming over to read, you know I love when you visit.

Hmmm mm. I wonder where she slipped off to go? I’m going to have to go back and read more about these two.

    • her husband, her son…Lance is an old flame, back and professing a love he never told her about….so she’s a bit conflicted.

thank you for coming over to read, that means a lot to me.

That’s quite romantic … I’m with Gina. I want to know where she went, and am hoping it was not merely the A&P.

    • why thank you Karen, thank you for just coming over to read it. She was going back to her husband and little boy…but she’s conflicted and wondering where she belongs.

Thanks for linking up with Trifecta this weekend. Is Katie heading back to her husband for a bit? Back to the life where she’s just a wife and mother? Run, Lance! Before you know it, you’ll be the guy she blames for her unhappiness.

    • yes, and then she isn’t…Katie is so conflicted. But it’s making for some really nice drama. Thanks for coming over to read. I love this Trifecta commmunity.

You remind me I HAVE to think outside the box and stop taking prompts so literally. This is unexpected for the prompt and yet perfect.

    • what a really lovely thing to say to another writer. I had 3 posts up about motherhood over the weekend, I wanted to write something different. Thank you so much for this, it made my day.
