It’s raining and cool today, not the kind of day you imagine when you conjure up summer in your mind.
But the promise is there. There have been days of hot, sweet sunshine and sandy feet already
the Air Conditioning has been turned on, the screens put in, the suncscreen applied.
I am not much of a planner or a list maker, being an Aquarius affords me a certain level of quiet and thrilled anticipation for what is coming but it also means that I don’t like a huge lead in to it. I like secrets and surprises, I like thinking about the thought of “WHAT COULD BE COMING“.
Just. Be. Enough. asked us to tell you..
This Summer I will…
But how I can tell you? What if I make my list and it falls short or doesn’t come close?
My heart will hurt with disappointment and the loss of smiles over things that I did get to do this summer.
So instead, I will tell you that I will be dipping my toes in the baby pool, I will turn my face to the sun when I can and read when I want to, I will do my best to write and muse and giggle.
This past weekend, in a burst of energy and the need to feel SUMMER around me, I did what I do best.
I decorated my life (and the house) to welcome a new season.
Put my nautical quilt on, delighting in the blues and whites
my bathroom feels like a beachy place now, open and airy.
Shells are out and every outlet has a sweet smell of sun, sand and boardwalks drifting from it.
The kitchen is all dressed up for Summer
and so is the rest of the house, from the dining room to the front door.
and I’m ready with cute tanks about my (one of my) favorite indulgences.
along with the real thing once in a while…(of course)
And of course I’ll want to spend some time with my favorite little guys
Cuties right?
and maybe keep up the weight loss that has me feeling really good these days??? 
Plus I bought this CUPCAKE WISH box and I put one in there, hoping for a sweet surprise.
So I’m ready….
I honestly don’t know what this summer is going to bring me, but as with every new chapter and season, I’m open to the adventure and looking forward to the fireworks.

I keep thinking that I will have more energy tomorrow… but – tomorrow – I am going to have more energy … and sprinkle my house with summer. You’ve inspired me. Love you!
I WANT you to come and stay!!! I am so happy you came over today, truly. I have been thinking of you and wishing you only good stuff for weeks now. You know I think that I come across as SUNSHINE FILLED and while that makes me happy (that I give you a reason to smile) I am not happy always and it took me putting out the lighthouses and the beachy stuff to feel BETTER on Saturday for sure, the simple truth is that I’m optimistic and I even when I can’t see/feel the sunshine I know it’s there. Whenever you need to find it, come find me and we’ll look together.
Plus, we need to get together in HERSHEY this summer. NOT Taking No for an answer.

HI there my friend. I just love that you came over to say HI. The decorating of the house really helps to put me in a “MOOD” for a season. I come from a long line of women who changed tablecloths and shower curtains and bedspreads with every quarter of the year and I look forward to that too, that transformation of my space.

You.Are.Beautiful! And I love the nautical theme. The sea, i.e. the beach, definitely screams summer to me too. My mom has a dedicated room we call “the lighthouse room” and it is covered with lighthouses, seas shells, and everything nautical. For years that room lived in Texas, dreaming of the day my mom would return up north, and now she lives 6 minutes from Virginia Beach. Enjoy EVERY MOMENT of your summer!
