“How are things with Nick?” Katie asked over the hum of the electric mixer.
Charlotte grinned, her smile lighting up the kitchen.
“That good huh?” Katie laughed while they licked the thick vanilla cake mix from the whisks.
Charlotte nodded,a dreamy expression on her face, “In fact we’ve been talking.”
“Geez Char, I hope so!”
“Very funny Kay! “ Charlotte said. “No, we’ve been talking… about our future.”
“You romantic rebel!” Katie laughed, “A future with a man 10 years younger than you?”
“Well…” Charlotte said showing Katie the antique diamond, “I just might need a matron of honor.”

It seems ever more common that women are dating younger men. I don’t know if it’s because of the Hollywood trendsetters or because women are in better health longer or what. But good for Charlotte. You did a great job with dialogue here. Nice flow.
