Lance watched Katie sleep. Resting on his elbow he took in every contour of her profile until he realized that he preferred her dreaming with her eyes opened instead of closed.

Slowly pulling the sheet from her body, he let his free index finger trace the line from her rib cage to the curve of her hip, stopping only when her sleepy smile let him know she’d  felt every touch.

“Morning beautiful.”

Katie’s blue eyes met his, “Morning handsome.”

“Welcome to our weekend… “Lance said, pulling her close and kissing her mouth awake. “…Where I get to rouse you like this for three whole days.”

Katie laughed, “ Well we’ll need to eat and shower eventually.”

“Later…” Lance answered, pulling her on top of him.

Katie stepped out of the shower three hours later and wrapped a towel around her middle. Dragging a comb through her hair, she opened the bathroom door and saw Lance, sitting on the bed lost in thought.

“So what are our plans?” she asked.

“Plans?” he answered, obviously confused.

“What are we doing today in this gorgeous little seaside town off the Coast of …” she stopped and looked thoughtful. “…where exactly are we?”

Lance smiled and realized that he hadn’t mentioned where he was taking her. He’d just picked her up and driven to this little house on the beach as fast as he could, in fact he’d only just brought their luggage in while Kate rinsed off the morning.

“Does it matter?”

Kate  turned to him, grinning. “Nope, not at all.” she opened her bag and began sorting through panties and camisoles, “but it would help to know what you plan to do with me today so I can pick an outfit.”

Lance got up and took her face in his hands, “I plan to do whatever it takes to make you want to stay here with me. I’ve only got three days to convince you that my world is going to end if we have to say goodbye again.”

For the weekend challenge, we’re playing the ambiguity card again and leaving interpretation up to you. Give us 33-333 words with this as your inspiration:

The world will end in three days.

Three hours later. Wow. Who cares if the world ends in three days? Sounds like they’ve got a heck of a weekend planned for themselves. I love that you include Trifecta in your story. I also love that she doesn’t know where she is. I think I could use a little of that once in awhile.

    • well he’s attentive. ;) Thanks for coming by to read this and to leave me a comment. I love having Trifecta to help me advance the story, it’s been such a happy surprise to join your community (cult) LOL….I love it.

Can’t think of a better way to spend my time when the end is near. Hopefully, it will also be the beginning of their world together.

    • I know that it what lit Lance wants, but Kate has Anthony and Zach, I wonder how she is going to leave that for him…but I guess we’ll see ;) and let them have this weekend of theirs. (wink)

I read it “three days later” four times… ugh… it wasn’t making sense… then I slowed it down. :)
    GOOD installment.

    • I do that myself, just read it the wrong way and then shake my head at myself. I’m just glad that you came by to read it…thank you and you liked it, even better :)

High handed of him, not telling her where he’s taking her. His world ending or not, she’s got a little boy who might need her… A guy not considering my child’s needs? Red flag.

I know he wants what he lost, but he needs to rein it in or he’s going to mess it up.

    • oh I only had a scant amount of words, in my mind, Zach is fine and no one is the wiser…I’d never hurt that little boy in this story. I wanted it to be “romantic” , like a planned trip but she had no idea where…not that he just picked her up and took away from her family. I can see how it reads like that but I promise it wasn’t intended and when I rewrite I’ll make it plain. Thanks for that actually, I would have NEVER seen it like that (like that crayons again)…I was lost in romance not reality.
