Wordless Wednesday: I Am, I AM.

Today, I visited my favorite city in the world, alone.
NYC.

Big, Bright, Bustling.

and on the train on the way back..to my job, my life, my stuff..this song came on my iPod.

One of my favorite songs  of my lifetime  for a whole host of reasons.

and while I’d love to explain and share what this song conjures for me, what kind of secret smile it gave me today..it would take away from the message.

This is one song that still fits me, like favorite jeans from my 20′s, faded and seen quite a bit, but so comfortable I will never be able to explain the magic they weave  to make me feel beautiful and worthy.

I think I’d rather you just listen to it, if you want to…and think about what makes you special, what turns you on and inspires you.

Discover your own 32 flavors today. (and enjoy Alana and her amazing song)

xoxoxoxo

(this is actually Ani DiFranco’s , the feminist goddess, song, but this is the version I found way back in my “earlier years” and the one I love)

I was all about Ms. Difranco in the 90s. I’ve never actually heard this version.

Funny how a song can take you back. I had to haul out Not A Pretty Girl and folk-rock out a little in recognition!

    • I never heard Ani’s until AFTER Alana’s cover…but both of them are amazing..and this song, WOW, it just breaks and heals me in 3 minutes.

so glad it took you back and so glad you found a favorite song to rock out to. xo

It’s funny how some songs just bring us back to a special place & time in our lives.
Songs/music like this brings me back to the 90′s too! As does Pearl Jam & Stone Temple Pilots!
